Take A Closer Look At The adidas ZX 10/8 Candyverse Trainer
The adidas ZX 10/8 Candyverse trainer is a super sweet hybrid trainer that merges the uppers of the ZX 10000C with the sole unit of the ZX 8000.
The ZX line from adidas took trainer technology to new levels back in 1984, when adidas looked to take on the running world like never before. Prior to 1984, adidas had already done a pretty good as far as running trainers were concerned. The American City Series saw some all time classics like the New York, the Boston Super, the Oregon & the Los Angeles which all set the benchmark as far as performance and running trainer were concerned. First introduced in 1984, the ZX line gave us innovative trainer tech like the Torsion sole system & Soft Cell technology. Each style was tweaked to suit a specific terrain such as road running, off road terrain or both. The ZX line was a complete game changer. For July 2021, adidas ZX fans are now treated to the adidas ZX 10/8 Candyverse trainer which merges the uppers of the ZX 10000C & the sole unit of the ZX 8000.
The ZX line is by no means a “hype” thing. Trainer trends come and go but classic runners from the ZX line will always remain relevant. We are now treated to a very special hybrid release from the legendary ZX series. Although not an original ZX line trainer, the ZX 100000C has already earned its “stripes” with classic ZX fans. With collaboration with Berlin’s very finest, Overkill, alongside National Park Foundation & Krusty Burger, the ZX 10000C still packs all the OG charm of the original 80s models. The hybrid model also utilises the sole unit of the ZX 8000 which is arguably one of the most celebrated styles from the original ZX line. Originally released in the iconic “Aqua” colourway, the ZX 8000 featured the state of the art Torsion sole technology and a Purolite midsole.
Merging the two ZX silhouettes together, the adidas ZX 10/8 Candyverse trainer draws colourway inspiration from classic sweet shops with an updated Torsion sweet logo to the tongue. Featuring mesh & textile uppers with the signature caged heel of the late 80s ZX models. Other highlights include EQT green 3 stripes to the sidewalls, sweet graphics to the insoles & classic trefoil branding to the heels.
