Nike Celebrate The 30th Anniversary Of The Air Huarache With More OG Colourways
Following on from the ‘Scream Green’ re-release, Nike revive another OG 90s colourway with the introduction of the Nike Air Huarache ‘Bright Mango’ trainer.
Anniversaries have become big business for Nike. Take Air Max for example. If it wasn’t for anniversary re-releases OG styles like the Air Max 97 would have stayed firmly stowed away in the Swoosh archives. Another fellow Air family member, the Huarache, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Following the release of the ‘Scream Green’ colourway last month, classic Air fans are now treated to another OG release with the introduction of the Nike Air Huarache ‘Bright Mango’ trainer for May 2021.
Following on from the huge success of the Nike Air Max 1, the Air Max Light and the Air Max 90, the Air Huarache landed on the scene back in 1991. With its sock like construction the Huarache was nothing like the world had seen before. An original Tinker Hatfield design, Hatfield’s main inspiration came from the sock like fit of the neoprene material used on water ski boots after a water skiing trip. The outer featured added support from the plastic heel strap with the comfort of Air sole technology underfoot. The Huarache became an instant hit.
Now re-introduced in the classic ‘Bright Mango’ colourway straight outta 91′, the OG Huarache features mesh uppers with leather overlays and the all important neoprene sock liner. Other highlights include Air cushioning and the signature heel strap the rear. The Nike Air Huarache ‘Bright Mango’ trainer will be dropping from a range of Nike stockists such as Asphaltgold on Friday 21st May 2021.
