The Nike Air Max 97 ‘Evolution of Icons’ trainer gives the Bullet train inspired Air Max silhouette from Christian Tresser a corduroy update for 2021.
For March 2021, Nike introduced the ‘Evolution of Icons’ pack, with each style giving a nod to past Air Max icons from the last 30 years. One of the latest styles to drop as part of the very special release is the Nike Air Max 97 trainer, an OG 90s silhouette that was revived back in 2017 thanks to Skepta collabs & the legendary ‘Silver Bullet’ colourway. It’s hard to believe it’s now 4 years since the 20th anniversary of the streamlined silhouette. The Bullet trainer inspired shoe is just as relevant today as it was back in the late 90s.
Highlights of the latest AM97 release features 90s inspiration with a mixture of leather, corduroy & mesh uppers in graphite grey. The iconic full length Air Max sole unit gets the multi-coloured 90s treated with the addition of corduroy to the sidewalls and tongue. Drawing inspiration from Air Max icons from the past, the celebratory release also features mini swooshes to the front lateral sides alongside pull tabs to the tongue and heel.
The Nike Air Max 97 ‘Evolution of Icons’ trainer comes in unisex sizes and is available now from a range of retailers we work with. Also don’t forget to subscribe to mint. & follow @the_mint_mag to keep up to date with all the latest apparel, footwear & everything else in between.
