The Supreme x Nike Air Max 96 ‘Camo’ trainer revives the Air Max 96 trainer with transparent windows and woodland camo.
Something like the footwear equivalent of the Supreme x The North Face collaboration, the Supreme x Nike Air Max drops have become some of the most talked about Air Max collaborations in the sneaker release calendar. Over the last 5 years the New York skate store have stamped their Box Logo across a range of classic Air Max styles such as the Air Max 95, the Air Max 98, the Air Max Tailwind 4 & the Air Max Plus. The next chapter of the collaboration sees the revival of the Air Max 96 silhouette with the Supreme x Nike Air Max 96 ‘Camo’ trainer which is rumoured to drop over the coming weeks.
It was the ACG & Nike Air Max 95 designer, Sergio Lozano, who was tasked with designing the Air Total Max, or Air Max 96 as it is more commonly known. Utilising the same Air bag concept that featured in the AM95, the Air Max 96 took inspiration from the waves of the ocean which is evident on the design of the uppers. The AM96 appeared & disappeared pretty quickly, originally dropping in classic colourways like ‘Scream Green’.
The latest collaboration with Supreme New York ditches the OG mesh on the wave inspired panels for transparent plastic with leather overlays in a woodland camouflage print. Other features include Supreme branded insoles, ‘speed red’ mini swooshes, collaboration branding to the tongue and the signature Air Max 95 inspired sole unit underfoot. The drop will also include a black/speed red iteration as part of the special collaboration release.
The Supreme x Nike Air Max 96 ‘Camo’ trainer will be launching over the coming weeks from a range of retailers we work with. Also don’t forget to subscribe to mint. & follow @the_mint_mag to keep up to date with all the latest apparel, footwear & everything else in between.
