The Nike Air Max 96 II Trainer Drops In More OG Colourways
The Nike Air Max 96 II ‘Cherry’ trainer revives the original colourway from 1996 and drops as part of a women’s exclusive for May 2021.
1996 was a prime example of how thick and fast the Air Max releases were back then. It was the year that Nike released the Air Max 96 or the Air Total Max as it was more commonly known. 1996 also marked the release of the Air Max Triax 96 trainer, the Air Max Tailwind 96 & the Nike Air Max 96 II ‘Cherry’ trainer which now returns as part of a special 25th anniversary release.
Dropping directly in the middle of the Nike Air Max 95 and the Nike Air Max 97, the Air Max 96 II is a relatively unknown silhouette as far as the OG 90s stuff goes. The design utilised a similar sole unit of the Air Max 95 and featured mesh uppers with leather overlays for added support and stability. Highlights of the 1:1 re-release includes classic 90s styling, white mesh uppers, white leather overlays with hints of cherry red to swooshes, toe box & tongue tab. The classic Air Max trainer is finished off with an Air Max 95 inspired sole unit & reflective detailing to the sidewalls.
